Meet the Bird Room

Right now the birds are in a room in the barn where only one bird can be outside at a time.  we are in the process of creating a new location to showcase these fine feathered friends.  In this exotic bird aviary every bird will have access to both indoor and outdoor space.  If you are interested in contributing to the process please contact Doreen Robinson at ext. 115

Jewels - Moluccan Cockatoo

Likes peanuts and dancing for guests.  He has to be the center of attention

Ollie - Black Headed Caique

He is new to the zoo family but so far he seems to love his new roommates

Poncho - Blue and Gold Macaw  

Loves going on Zoo on the go programs and having his head and wings rubbed.   

Jack Jack - Catalina Macaw

Enjoys being outside and mimicking what guests are saying. 

Jail Bird - Senegal Parrot

likes getting his head rubbed and taking baths in his water bowl.

Kizzy - African Grey Parrot

He has a repertoire of over 30 sounds and phrases including: If I only had a brain, the phone ringing, the theme to green acres, a bomb dropping, kissing and clucking like a chicken.  He does not like to be pet but loves stepping up.

Oscar - Nanday Conure

he has been at the zoo for a long time now and he enjoys walking around with the staff on their shoulder
