Self
Guided Field Trips to the zoo are easy to arrange. Reservations
must be made to take advantage of group discounts. Please
call the Education office to make your reservation.
Guided
Group Tours of the zoo are given by Education Staff and
Zoo Docents. Tours include general information about the zoo
and specific information about the animals and exhibits. Tours
can be arranged for groups of any size and take approximately
one hour.
Discovery
Programs under the zoo tent include 5 or 6 animals, animal
artifacts, and other educational materials. Many of the animals
can be touched and individual questions will be addressed.
Groups of 30 or fewer are best. Several sessions can be arranged
for larger groups. Discovery Programs are approximately 40
minutes long.
Pond
Exploration Programs focus on pond life. One hour sessions
at pond side in Forest Park explore freshwater pond communities.
Beavers, turtles, frogs, insects, snails, waterfowl, plants,
and trees are featured.
