Discovery Programs are hands-on educational presentations that include live animals, artifacts, and other educational materials. Groups of 30 or fewer are best. Several sessions can be arranged for larger groups. Discovery programs are approx. 30-45 minutes long and feature a variety of topics and age appropriate formats.
Pond Exploration Programs
Pond Exploration Programs focus on organisms found in and around a pond. These one hour sessions are held right inside Forest Park. Children will meet live animals and take a turn at “pond-dipping” to discover animals and plants that form a freshwater pond community.
Scavenger Hunts are self-guided fun at Zoo. Age appropriate sheets are distributed at the gate upon entrance. The children learn about the Zoo animals and habitats while enjoying nature at its best.
Self-guided visits & tours for groups or individuals are fun and easy to arrange. Information about the animals can be found on signs at each major exhibit and at EduCart Learning Stations. (No additional fees for self-guided visits.)
