Our bears hibernate, peacocks tuck into their roosts and our baby fennec foxes huddle up next to each other for warmth. Staff maintain heaters and blankets for the animals while volunteers are breaking ice in water buckets in our barn. Wintertime provides the Zoo in Forest Park with its own set of challenges. As a beloved Springfield institution we must maintain the highest standards of care for the animals that depend on us 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Even while we are closed to the public and have little income.
We graciously and urgently ask for your donations. Any size will do. $5.00 is wonderful and $100 is outstanding. We make every penny count. If you are unable to make a donation, please remember we offer “Zoo on the Go" Birthday Parties, Zoo Camp, Membership and Discovery Programs all year round. Book a program or pass the word to a friend, a school, a library or business that you know that would love the Zoo as much as you do!
Thank you for your support..!
