Keeper-in-Training
are you interested in Experiencing what a career in animal care is really like?
If so, the Keeper-in-Training Program is for you! The Keeper-in-Training (KIT) Program is a unique way for teens ages 14–17 to be a part of The Zoo Team. Keepers-in-Training will gain valuable, hands-on experience of what a typical zookeeper's day is like and get the chance to help in other areas of The Zoo such as special events and programs within our Education Department.

Non-Member: $165/week
Member: $155/week
Discount: Receive a $15 discount when paying with check.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Come dressed appropriately (jeans, khakis, or jean or khaki shorts, t-shirt, boots or sneakers that can get dirty) as KITs will spend most of their day outdoors working with animal ambassadors.
- Reservations are not confirmed until payment is made in full.
- Bring a non-refrigerated bagged lunch.
- Half days and single shifts are not available at this time.
- We also have a Counselor-in-Training Program (CIT) for those interested in working more closely with our Zoo Camp program.
- The Zoo will not process refunds for the KIT program unless accompanied by a doctor's note.
