The Internship Program at The Zoo in Forest Park & Education Center provides an array of opportunities for college students to acquire hands-on experience working with exotic and native animal species. Our interns leave this program with experience in animal husbandry, creating and providing enrichment, assisting in education department programing, and other valuble skills. Interns will also complete a proffesional development curriculum that expands upon key topics in the animal care field such as coexistence with native species, accreditation standards, education and interpretation, and more.

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE FALL/WINTER SEASON
An interview is required before acceptance into the program. Our Intern Coordinator will reach out via email or phone to schedule an interview with you prior to your intended semester of participaton. * All interns must be at least 18 years old at the start of the internship program. Interns are required to pay a $25 fee on their first day to cover the cost of a t-shirt, parking pass and training materials.
