Range

Canada geese are native to North America. They are widespread across the United States and Canada, but will migrate south in the winter as far down as Mexico. 


Diet

Canada geese are primarily herbivorous, feeding on plants such as grass and a variety of aquatic plants. They will also eat small insects.

Canada geese face a number of threats in the wild: Predators such as coyotes and foxes, diseases such as highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) and avian cholera, and habitat loss.
