There is no outside food allowed inside The Zoo. Groups are permtted to picnic outside The Zoo in the park.

* The Zoo requires a completed and signed contract be returned as soon as possible to confirm the booking. Our self-guided trips and education programs book on a first come, first served basis. Please reach out to The Education Department via email at education@forestparkzoo.com for a field trip/group trip contract. 

 

Add-on education programs:

Discovery Programs

$100 (25 participants max)

Discovery Programs are approximately 30 minutes long and feature a variety of animal ambassadors, conservation topics in age-appropriate format. Discovery programs do not currently include hands-on interaction with animal ambassadors due to COVID-19. 

Pond Study Programs

$100 (25 participants max)

Pond Study Programs are 45 minutes long and are held inside Forest Park at Barney Pond (a half mile walk from The Zoo). Participants will take turns "pond-dipping" to discover the animals and plants that form our freshwater pond communituies.  

Guided Tours

$100 (25 participants max)

Guided Tours are 45 minutes long and are hosted by a member of our education staff. Learn the history behind The Zoo and hear the unique stories of some of our animal residents with a guided tour.  

Scavenger Hunts

$1/each

Scavenger Hunts are self-guided fun at The Zoo. Age appropriate sheets are distributed at the front entrance upon arrival. Participants will learn about The Zoo's animals, their native habitats and different forms of enrichment.

Late Arrivals: During our open season, The Zoo hosts multiple programs a day. Due to this, programs will not be extended for groups that arrive after their scheduled arrival time. Educators will cover as much material as possible in the time remaining. No refunds will be given due to late arrivals.  

Weather Conditions: The Zoo hosts programs in all weather. Please make sure all participants (adults and children) are dressed appropriately for the weather. While education programs typically take place under our tents, other areas are not necessarily covered. If there is a school cancellation, please make sure to reach out to The Zoo ahead of time to cancel or reschedule your programs at 413-733-2251.
