The Zoo in Forest Park & Education Center held a press conference to announce the opening of its new exhibit, which features two bald eagles. The eagles arrived from the Alaska Raptor Center last winter after undergoing rehabilitation for permanent injuries. These injuries left the eagles unable to fly, and thus unable to survive in the wild.
The Zoo also formally thanked the donors who made the exhibit possible. This includes Luke Dukette, a West Springfield Boy Scout, who chose this as his Eagle Scout project.
